New coin in Peru: Huarautambo

​BCR puso en circulación nueva moneda de S/. 1.00
The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) has released this Wednesday November 4, 2015 the new coin of S /. 1.00 alluding to archaeological site of Huarautambo, located in the department of Cerro de Pasco.

This coin, is the twenty-second in theSeries Numismatic Wealth and Pride of Peru, is legal tender, so can be used in any financial transaction and will circulate simultaneously with current, the Central Bank said in a press release.

The characteristics of the coin are the following: name: S /. 1.00; Alloy: alpaca; weight: 7.32 g .; Diameter: 25.50 mm .; song: striated; year of issue: 2015; obverse: coat of arms; Reverse: denomination and allusive composition Huarautambo; issue: 12 million units.

On the front is seen in the center the coat of arms of Peru, in the outer edge the inscription "Central Reserve Bank of Peru", and the year of issue inscribed polygon of eight sides forming the fillet currency.

On the back, in the central part, a composition of the Archaeological Site Huarautambo which features a fountain and an Inca bridge is observed. The mark of the National Mint on a geometric design of vertical lines and the denomination and the name of the currency on a rolling lines are also appreciated. At the top of the phrase shown Huarautambo S. XII - XVI AD

Huarautambo the archaeological site, located in Cerro de Pasco, and presumably built around 1470 AD.
